SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to visiting Sacramento State today in cloudy and windy conditions at the Santa Clara University Tennis Center.

The Broncos fall to 3-3 on the season, while 75th-ranked Sacramento State improved to 4-2. Santa Clara played without the services of head coach Aby Ryan, who is battling bronchitis and spent time in the hospital during the week.

Top-seeded Bronco Christine Limbers dropped a 6-1, 6-4 match to Sacramento State freshman Margarita Karnaukhova. A native of Krasnovar, Russia, Karnaukhova is ranked 51st nationally and also teamed with Ann Roslund to earn an 8-5 doubles victory over Limbers and Kaloi.

Santa Clara returns to action Feb. 20-23 with three matches in Honolulu, Hawai'i. The Broncos will play dual matches against BYU-Hawai'i, San Diego State and the University of Hawai'i. Santa Clara returns home on March 1 for a West Coast Conference match against Saint Mary's.
