Women's Tennis Falls at Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's tennis team fell to 38th-ranked Sacramento State this afternoon by a 6-1 score at the Rio Del Oro Tennis Club. The Broncos are now 10-9 overall, while the Hornets improve to 17-3.

Sacramento State swept the Broncos in doubles play, and took five of six singles courts. Freshman Kimberly Daniel netted SCU's lone point of the afternoon, with her 7-6, 7-6 victory over Cristina Rivieccio. Broncos Janalle Kaloi and Catherine Cochrane lost to nationally-ranked singles players in their respective competitions.

Santa Clara will return home to the Degheri Tennis Center on Friday, for its final home match of the season, hosting San Francisco. Scheduled for a 2 p.m. start, the Broncos will honor their lone senior, Jenny Siegel prior to the afternoon's first serve.
