  • The Broncos have four games ahead in an eight-day span beginning with San Diego on Monday. Following that contest, Santa Clara will host BYU on Thursday, hit the road for San Francisco on Saturday and return to the Leavey Center to host Pacific on Monday, Jan. 31. Attendance for home games will be limited to 25 percent capacity due to concerns surrounding Covid-19 and the increase of the Omicron variant. Click here for more information.
  • Santa Clara is coming off their second-straight loss in WCC play following their 73-65 loss in Moraga to Saint Mary's. The Broncos will look to bounce back with three of their next four games set to be played from the comfort of home inside the Leavey Center.

  • Herb Sendek picked up his 500th career victory in the Broncos' 84-70 win at Pacific. He joins Gonzaga's Mark Few as the only active WCC coaches on the 500 Division I wins list.

  • The Broncos are currently seventh in the WCC standings with an 11-7 overall record and 1-2 mark in league play. San Diego is in fourth with 4-2 mark in WCC play.

  • The Broncos rank in the top 30 nationally in field goal percentage (24th), 3-pt field goal percentage (25th) and free throw percentage (28th).

  • Santa Clara is the WCC leader in fewest turnovers, committing just 12.1 per game. They are also second in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.25.

  • Santa Clara has had no problem scoring points this season. The Broncos have had at least four scorers reach double figures in 12-of-18 games, and has four games in which five Broncos have scored in double figures.

  • At 4-2 in WCC play, San Diego finds themselves in possession of fourth place in the conference standings entering Monday's contest. After falling to San Francisco in their WCC opener, the Toreros won three-straight over Pepperdine, Portland and LMU. Monday's game will be their third road game in five days following a 79-71 loss at BYU and 73-65 win at Pacific. San Diego is led offensively by Marcellus Earlington's 14.2 ppg while Jase Townsend is averaging 11.5 ppg.

The teams split last season's meetings with the Broncos winning 69-63 in San Diego and falling at home, 71-60. Santa Clara has taken three of the last four meetings dating back to Jan. 4, 2020.

EVENT PROTOCOL - INDOOR
Santa Clara University has announced temporary changes to their winter sports attendance policies in response to Covid-19 and the spread of the Omicron variant. Attendance will be limited to 25 percent of the maximum capacity for the Leavey Center. Permitted spectators will include home and visiting team pass list members, men's and women's basketball season ticket holders and 500 Santa Clara University students.

Guests and essential game staff that are permitted to attend will be required to wear a mask at all times while at the event. KN95 masks are recommended. To eliminate opportunity for patrons to remove masks, concessions and bistro will be closed and no outside food or drink will be permitted. Patrons not complying with the mask requirement will be removed from the event.

SCU requires attendees age 2 or older to provide pre-attendance proof of vaccination verification (boosters are also highly recommended for those that are eligible) OR proof of a negative antigen test within 24 hours of the event OR PCR lab-based test within 48 hours of the event. Individuals under the age of 2 are exempt from providing proof of vaccination and testing. Click here for detailed instructions.
