NOTES

  • The Broncos are hosting San Francisco in a huge rematch from two weeks ago when the Dons won an 88-85 thriller inside War Memorial. After Saturday's game, Santa Clara is hitting the road for three-straight against LMU, Gonzaga and Pepperdine before putting a bow on the regular season at home against Portland on Feb. 26.

  • Santa Clara is third in the WCC Standings at 7-3 and is 17-8 overall. The Broncos are on a four-game win streak, their longest in conference play since the 2012-13 season. Their latest win is among the biggest of the Herb Sendek era as SCU knocked off No. 22 Saint Mary's, 77-72, at home in what was the Broncos' first win over a ranked program since Nov. 19, 2004 (#4 North Carolina).

  • Saturday's game pits together the No. 3 and 4 teams in the WCC Standings. Both squads are capable of putting up a lot of points with the Broncos ranking second in the WCC at 77.4 ppg and the Dons right behind them in third with 77.1 ppg.

  • Santa Clara is 10th nationally in field goal percentage (49.0) and is one of just five teams in the nation that is shooting 49.0 percent from the floor and 37.9 percent from 3-point range.

  • Santa Clara leads the all-time series over San Francisco by a slim 116-113 margin. The Dons have won five of the last six in the series.

  • Santa Clara leads the WCC in fewest fouls committed with just 14.4 per game.

  • The Broncos have dished out 383 assists this season (22nd nationally) and are second in the WCC with 15.3 per game.

  • Josip Vrankic has been a force as of late, scoring at least 13 points in his last seven games while averaging 17.1 ppg. He is shooting a team-best 56.8 percent in league play.

  • Vrankic is currently eighth in school history in both career points and rebounds. He needs just nine more points to tie a very familiar name for 7th place at 1,689 points....Steve Nash.

  • Jalen Williams is tied for the WCC scoring lead of 18.1 points per game alongside San Francisco's Jamaree Bouyea. The duo put on a show in the teams' last meeting, combining for 48 points to lead each squad (Bouyea - 25 pts, Williams - 23 pts).

  • Williams is coming off just his second-career double-double with 18 points and 10 assists vs. No. 22 Saint Mary's. His 10 assists are the most by a Bronco since Trey Wertz dished out 10 against Idaho on Dec. 21, 2018.
  • Santa Clara leads the all-time series over San Francisco by a slim 116-113 margin. The Dons have won five of the last six in the series.
