NOTES

  • The Broncos (4-2) are coming off a 64-51 win over Menlo College. Brandin Podziemski pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds - most by a Bronco since 2018 - in the victory while Keshawn Justice led all scorers with 17 points (5-of-9 3PT).

  • Podziemski is averaging a double-double of 18.7 ppg and 10.2 rpg. He joins San Diego's Eric Williams as the only WCC players to do so.

  • Santa Clara ranks sixth nationally in rebounds per game (45.2) and is fifth with 32.6 defensive boards per game. 32.6 defensive boards per game. The Broncos are averaging 9.7 more boards per game than in 2021-22.

  • Podziemski is 3rd in the WCC in scoring (18.7) and 2nd in rpg (10.2). He also ranks seventh nationally with three double-doubles.

  • At 514 career victories, Herb Sendek is just two away from tying Hall of Famer John Chaney for 67th in NCAA D1 History.

  • After a rough start to his final campaign, graduate forward Keshawn Justice has been looking back to form in the last two outings. The big man scored 12 with four triples against UCF in the Bahamas before turning in a season-best 17 points and a 5-of-9 mark from downtown in the win over Menlo College.

  • Iona, led by Rick Pitino in his third-year with the Gaels, was the preseason favorite in the MAAC and checks into Saturday's showdown with a 2-1 record. Iona has done an exception job at holding on the ball as the nation's leader at just 7.3 turnovers per game. They also rank second nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.23. Daniss Jenkins and Berrick JeanLouis lead the Gael offense with 17.3 and 15.3 ppg, respectively. JeanLouis ranks 11th nationally with a 74.1 shooting percentage.

  • The Broncos and Gaels have met just twice throughout the years, both resulting in Bronco victories. Last time was in the 2011 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament Championship Game in which Santa Clara won the title with a 76-69 victory.
