NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's golf team got a little better each round they played at the Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach, Calif. Tuesday's final team combined score of 305 was their best of the tournament and they finished in ninth place.

Senior captains Eric Lillibridge and Jong Yoon bounced back from rough opening rounds and shot final rounds of 75 to lead the Broncos Tuesday. Sophomore Jonathan Keane was right on their heels with a 76 and Kellen Moss and Tim Lynch finished up with rounds of 79 and 80, respectively.

"We just didn't quite get it together out there," said head coach Rob Miller. "It seemed like everybody just had a bad hole. The course was very difficult and good courses will do that to you."

The Broncos are back in action next Monday, March 5 and Tuesday, March 6 at the Callaway Golf Collegiate Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
