Men's Golf Tied For Second After Rain Shortened First Round at Purple and Red Invitational

Sept. 25, 2007

Layton, Utah -- The Santa Clara men's golf team traveled to Valley View in Layton, Utah for the Purple and Red Invitational this week. Yesterday was supposed to contain the first two rounds of the tournament, but rain limited play to just one round. Today will consist of the second and final round in the now 36-hole tournament. After 18 holes the Broncos are tied for second place, three shots behind Utah, one of the teams hosting the tournament. The low scorer for the team after the first round is Senior. Blair Myers, rebounding from a difficult first tournament two weeks ago to shoot a 70 and is currently tied for 7th.

Rounding out the field for the Broncos are Sophomores Jimmy Cacho and Scott Travers who both shot 71, Alex Bon with a 74, and Senior Tim Lynch with a 77.
