HIGH SCHOOL: competing at Interlake High School in Bellevue, Wash., Garnett went undefeated during his high school career … he was a three-time state champion … co-captained his high school squad during his junior year ... ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Washington.

PERSONAL: son of Dale and Christine Garnett … enjoys golfing and wood working … plans to major in finance and minor in entrepreneurship with hopes of one day starting his own business.

Why he chose Santa Clara?: “I chose Santa Clara because it has all the main components I was looking for in a college. The tennis program looks amazing while having a great business school. Also, the campus there is small, which I personally like with a positive religious aspect too. I would also be kidding myself if the weather there wasn’t a factor too. So, what I am trying to say is it is a really well rounded school that I look forward to going to.”
