SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Eight home games, including four in the inaugural Julian Fraser Memorial, highlight the 2017 Santa Clara men's water polo schedule.
The Broncos will play in three other tournaments, including the season-opening San Jose Invite where they will face the host Spartans and La Verne on Sept. 2.
Santa Clara follows up by playing four games in both the Princeton Invitational (Sept. 8-10) and Aggie Shootout (Sept. 16-17) before facing Concordia on Sept. 30 in the team's home and West Water Polo Association (WWPA) opener.
The Broncos will hold their annual Alumni game on Oct. 7, and the 12-team Julian Fraser Memorial from Oct. 19-22. Santa Clara and San Jose State will co-host the event, which recognizes former player Julian Fraser who passed away in the spring. That tournament replaces the annual Rodeo event.
The regular season closes with three of the final five games on the road, including four WWPA tilts. The Broncos play conference games at UC San Diego (Oct. 26) and LMU (Oct. 28) before returning home to meet Fresno Pacific (Nov. 4) and Air Force (Nov. 5).
Santa Clara ends the regular season with a nonconference matchup at Stanford (Nov. 11).
The WWPA Championship will be held Nov. 17-19 in San Diego.
