HUMBOLDT, Calif. – After having the Covered Bridge Regatta in Oregon cancelled due to high winds, Santa Clara women's rowing traveled to Humboldt State on Saturday where the Broncos competed with their V8, 2V8, and V4 boats.
The Broncos finished the V8 race 3.8 seconds behind the Jacks with a time of 6:28.3.
"Our Varsity 8 was just a bit slower than the Humboldt V8 but being close to another V8 and fighting hard all the way down the course was great for them," said Santa Clara head coach Matt Pinschmidt.
The Broncos pulled away after 500 meters with their 2V8, taking first with a time of 6:46.5.
In the final race of the day, Humboldt State took the V4 race with Santa Clara finishing with a time of 8:00.8.
