With four teams winning 2-0 matches, No. 15 Santa Clara sand volleyball defeated local rival San Jose State 4-1 on Thursday in Los Gatos.  The Broncos move to 3-1 and San Jose State falls to 0-4. 

Santa Clara's No. 1, 2, 4 and 5 teams won 2-0 its matches at Los Gatos High School.  The Broncos' No. 3 team was defeated in three sets.

The Broncos will take the next two weekends off from competition for final exams.  In its next competition, Santa Clara will play at the Santa Cruz Duals March 28-29.  Also playing down in Santa Cruz will be USF, Cal, No. 1 Hawaii, Cal Poly and CSU Bakersfield.  In the latest poll CSU Bakersfield received votes.
