SANTA CLARA, Calif. The Santa Clara women's tennis team will enter the postseason this weekend at the West Coast Conference tournament in San Diego. The Broncos have earned the No. 4 seed in the tournament after compiling an impressive 14-7 regular season record and a 4-2 in the WCC.

Santa Clara will take on the No. 5 seed, San Francisco, on Friday, Apr. 23, at 8:00 a.m. The Broncos finished their regular season with a close 4-3 win over USF last week on Apr. 18.

Last season, Santa Clara finished the tournament in seventh place. This year, the Broncos have their eyes on a much higher finish, especially since the first match of the tournament is against local rival USF.

" We are always right there with USF, but we feel that this is our best team to finally beat them in the tournament this year," said Bronco head coach Ben Cabell. "It's always an uphill battle with them, but we're focused on Friday and we're confident that we can finish in the top four teams in the conference."

First serve on Friday is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. SantaClaraBroncos.com will post updates on the tournament throughout the weekend.
