TEMPE, Ariz. – Santa Clara women's tennis was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as a 2020 All-Academic team and eight Broncos were named ITA Scholar-Athletes on Monday.
To be considered, All-Academic teams must have a team GPA of 3.2 or higher while ITA scholar-athletes maintain a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
The Broncos squad boasted a 3.563 cumulative team GPA and in the spring quarter, they posted a 3.865 term GPA for the highest mark of any Santa Clara sport teams.
Seniors Madison Clarke, Caitlyn Frankel, Delaney Nothaft, Maddie Pothoff, juniors Elvena Gevargiz, Katya Tabachnik, sophomore Jamie Schroer and freshman Giulia Hayer were named scholar-athletes.
For Pothoff, Tabachnik and Schroer, it was their second time being recognized.
