Joining the Broncos coaching staff in 2012, Daniel Hicker will be entering his fourth season with the Women’s Soccer program and first season with Women’s Basketball. He continues as Director of Performance Analysis for Women’s Soccer.
Hicker’s responsibilities include the evaluation and implementation of physical conditioning applications to resist injury and increase sport performance. This includes objective athlete profiling through use of Force Plate, GPS, accelerometry, heart rate, still image and video analysis of overall team, positional and individual player performance qualities.
Prior to arriving on the mission campus, Hicker served as the first ever head coach for the women’s soccer program at Trinity Lutheran College, Washington, from 2010-2012. The program soon became a recognized identity with players earning national honors and the team qualifying for the NCCAA Division I Regional Championships. During his tenure Hicker also served as an Instructor of Exercise Science.
Hicker began his collegiate coaching career in 2002 as an
assistant coach for the men’s soccer program at Pierce
College, Washington. After continuing advanced educational
and playing career pursuits he returned as head coach in 2005
successfully advancing the program to the quarterfinals of the
NWAACC Championships for the first time since 1992. Over his
tenure, Hicker lead the program to an impressive list of
achievements including 3 consecutive post season appearances, a
first ever league MVP selection, 3 all-star team selections, 5
all-academic team selections, and the highest-ever recorded
cumulative team GPA in program history.
After attaining his Bachelors of Exercise Science from Colorado
State University-Pueblo in 2006, Hicker completed his Masters of
Exercise Science and Rehabilitation from California University of
Pennsylvania in 2010 followed by a postgraduate in Sport Psychology
in 2013. He has earned advanced credentials in Performance
Enhancement and Corrective Exercise through the NASM and is a
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the
NSCA.
Hicker holds a Premier Diploma and is an associate staff coach for the NSCAA. He is a regular article contributor for Performance Conditioning Inc. and has coached for the Olympic Development Program as a region IV staff coach and head coach for Cal North. Most recently, Hicker served as assistant coach for the Bay Area Breeze of the USL W-League.
Hicker currently resides in San Jose.
