We are anxiously awaiting the return of Bronco Nation to Leavey Center where the team will be in action 18 times in 2021-22.
The Broncos will play 10 of their 15 nonconference games at home beginning with the season opener against Cal State Fullerton on Nov. 9. A challenging nonconference slate also features home contests against Stanford (Nov. 12), Nevada (Nov. 16), UC Irvine (Nov. 27), Hawai'i (Nov. 30) and Montana (Dec. 19).
Key conference home contests include matchups with local rivals Saint Mary's (Jan. 6) and San Francisco (Feb. 12). Gonzaga will make its annual visit to Leavey Center on Jan. 15.
The season-ticket renewal process concluded Monday, Oct. 11, and single-game tickets are now available.
This year’s team is anchored by some familiar faces. Seniors Josip Vrankic and Keshawn Justice, and junior Jalen Williams, the top three scorers in 2020-21, return along with key rotational players in juniors Jaden Bediako and Giordan Williams, and sophomore Miguel Tomley. Vrankic is a three-time All-West Coast Conference performer, Jalen Williams was all-league pick a year ago and Justice has been one of the program’s best all-around players in his career.
Six newcomers will be integrated by sixth-year head coach Herb Sendek and his staff.
Jacob Holt (Ladner, Delta, British Columbia), Brenton Knapper (Ontario, Calif.), Carlos Stewart (Baton Rouge, La.) and Camaron Tongue (Medfield, Mass.) are all freshmen who signed last fall. This past spring, transfers Parker Braun (Missouri) and PJ Pipes (Green Bay) were added to the roster just as Vrankic, the 17th-leading scorer in school history, announced his intention to return for a fifth year.
Once the renewal period concludes, new season tickets will be on sale to the general public. However, prospective new season-ticket holders may place a deposit with the ticket office to be added to the waiting list. If you have questions, please contact the Santa Clara Athletics ticket office at (408) 554-4660 or BroncoTickets@scu.edu.
We will continue to monitor state, county and university COVID-19 guidelines and its impact on home events.
