  • Podziemski's Career-High Not Enough In High-Scoring Shootout
    January 28, 2023
    Sophomore guard Brandin Podziemski had one of his best games in a Bronco Uniform on Saturday afternoon, scoring a career-high 38 points - his third point outing of the season. Unfortunately for Santa Clara men's basketball it wasn't enough as Pacific, the top 3-point shooting team in the WCC, did what they do best by knocking down 17 treys, which proved to be too much down the stretch. The Broncos fell 95-89, breaking a five-game win streak over the Tigers, and dropped to 16-7, 4-4 on the year.

    Sophomore guard Carlos Stewart led the way with 17 points in a night where not a whole lot went the Broncos’ way. Looking for a signature win against their Bay Area rivals, Santa Clara men’s basketball was humbled by No. 24 Saint Mary’s in a 77-58 final in Moraga to drop to 4-3 in WCC play and 16-6 overall.
  • Men's Hoops Looks To Knock Off Saint Mary's Tomorrow

    It's a rematch that is a whole 21 days in the making. Santa Clara men's basketball heads to Moraga on Saturday looking to knock off the last undefeated team in WCC play, Saint Mary's, in a 5:00 p.m. tip at the UCU Pavilion. The game will be carried live on NBC Sports Bay Area and available to stream on the WCC Network outside of the Bay Area and Southern California. 
  • Men's Basketball Powers Past Cougars at Home

    The Santa Clara University men's basketball team fought off two second-half pushes in what, on the box score ended up being a closely contested game, to hold off third-place BYU, win its 11th game at home and beat the Cougars in front of more than 2,400 fans, 83-76.

  • Justice Moves Past Nash As Broncos Cruise Past Pacific, 92-81

    Keshawn Justice once again was the man of the hour for Santa Clara men’s basketball, tallying his second-straight game of 20 or more points with a career-high tying 26 points on 6-of-15 shooting from 3-point range as the Broncos took care of Pacific on the road with a 92-81 victory on Saturday evening.

    There was no shortage of effort in Santa Clara men’s basketball’s narrow loss to Gonzaga. The Broncos gave the ninth-ranked Bulldogs everything they could handle and held a one-point lead inside the final 90 seconds, but ultimately were just unable to hold on down the stretch as they dropped to 2-2 in WCC play with an 81-76 loss.

  • Podziemski Earns Second WCC Player of the Week Honor

    After averaging 23 points on 52.9 percent shooting in two games, Santa Clara's sophomore sensation Brandin Podziesmki has been tabbed as the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. He is the first Bronco to win the award multiple times in one year since Jared Brownridge won twice in in the 2016-17 season.
