NOTES

  • The Broncos will play three of their last four regular season games on the road beginning this weekend against BYU and Portland.

  • SCU is looking for back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1995-96.

  • The Broncos are coming off two home victories last week. SCU shot 76.5 percent in the second half to come from behind for a 71-69 win over LMU in their last outing.

  • Brandin Podziemski scored 30 points in the LMU win - his fourth 30-point game this season. He also has 11 games of 20-plus points.

  • Podziemski is averaging 25 ppg in the last five games. He leads the team in PPG (19.4), RPG (8.0), APG (3.2) and SPG (1.81). Podz ranks third in the WCC in both PPG and RPG.

  • Podziemski is one of just three players in NCAA D1 averaging 19.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 3.0 apg.

  • Keshawn Justice needs just 11 points to tie for the 15th-most in a Bronco Career. He has already become the program's all-time leader in career appearances (138).

  • Justice leads the WCC in 3-pointers made (76), attempted (209) and per game (2.81).

  • Carlos Stewart ranks 9th in the WCC in total ppg (15.5).

  • Podziemski (3rd) and Stewart (5th) rank in the top 5 in the league in total steals.

  • Santa Clara leads the WCC in rebounds per game (38.22).

  • Parker Braun and Jaden Bediako are tied for third in the WCC with 26 blocks.

  • The Broncos have had two players score 20 or more on six occasions.

  • The Broncos lead the WCC with just 15.3 fouls per game.

  • Podziemski has eight double-doubles, which ranks second in the WCC.

  • Podziemski won WCC Player of the Week honors twice in the first five weeks of the year.  He's the first Bronco since Jared Brownridge in 2016-17 with multiple WCC POTW honors.

  • Herb Sendek has 529 victories, 61st-most all-time in D1 history.

  • BYU is 6-7 in WCC play and 16-12 overall in 2022-23. Led by fourth-year head coach Mark Pope, the Cougars are averaging 75.6 points per game and are second in the WCC in rebounding behind the Broncos with an average of 37.89 per contest. Four players are currently averaging 10.0 ppg or better led by Fousseyni Traore's 12.9. The big man also averages the fourth most RPG in the league at 7.8.

  • Santa Clara is looking to make history in what will be the 41st meeting all-time between the programs. The Broncos won 83-76 in the first meeting earlier this season in Santa Clara, but a win over the Cougars in Provo would be their first since BYU joined the WCC. The last time SCU defeated BYU in Provo was Dec. 2, 1972 (66-64). A win would also give the Broncos the regular-season sweep over the Cougars for the first time since 1961-62 (won 65-53 and 71-55). SCU is currently riding a two-game win streak in the series dating back to last season.
