NOTES

  • At 5-2, the Broncos will look to extend their winning streak to three on Wednesday. SCU is coming off a big 86-76 victory over Iona. Brandin Podziemski and Keshawn Justice combined for 46 points in the win.

  • Podziemski is averaging a double-double of 19.9 ppg and 10.0 rpg. He joins San Diego's Eric Williams as the only WCC players to do so.

  • Santa Clara ranks ninth nationally in rebounds per game (43.7) and fourth in defensive rpg (32.0).

  • The Broncos are averaging 8.2 more boards per game than in 2021-22.

  • Podziemski is 2nd in the WCC in scoring (19.9) and 2nd in rpg (10.0). He also ranks 12th nationally with three double-doubles.

  • SCU shot 89.7 percent from the charity stripe against Iona, knocking down 26-of-29 attempts. It is the best percentage (min. 20 attempts) for the Broncos since going 21-for-22 on the road against LMU on Feb. 28, 2019.

  • At 515 career victories, Herb Sendek is just one away from tying Hall of Famer John Chaney for 67th in NCAA D1 History.

  • After a rough start to his final campaign, graduate forward Keshawn Justice has been looking back to form in the last three outings. The big man scored 12 with four triples against UCF in the Bahamas before turning in 17 points and a 5-of-9 mark from downtown in the win over Menlo College. In his last outing against the Gaels of Iona, Justice tallied a season-best 19 points with three more triples. He is averaging 16 ppg and hoosting 40 percent from beyond the arc in the last three games.

  • Wyoming checks into Wednesday's game with a 3-3 record. The Cowboys, led by third-year head coach Jeff Linder, are one of the better 3-point shooting teams in the nation at 9.3 triples per game (47th nationally) and are averaging 72.5 ppg. Hunter Maldonado leads the team in scoring at 14.7 ppg.

  • This will be the fourth meeting between the programs and the first since 1953. The Broncos and Cowboys played in three-straight seasons from 1951-52 through 53-54, twice in the NCAA Tournament. Santa Clara won all three previous games with the first installment serving as one of the biggest games in program history - a 56-53 victory on March 22, 1952 in the NCAA West Regional to punch their ticket to the Final Four.
