Broncos Look To Bounce Back Against Pacific

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's basketball is looking to bounce back on Saturday as they get set to host Pacific for a 2:00 p.m. tip inside the Leavey Center. The game will be streamed live on the WCC Network.

NOTES

  • The Broncos are looking to get back on track with a second win in the last month over the Tigers. SCU has won the last five meetings against Pacific. 

  • SCU is 11-3 inside the Leavey Center this season and 25-7 in the last two years.

  • Santa Clara is the only team in the WCC with three players currently in the top 10 in scoring in league games. Podziemski (17.5 ppg), Stewart (16.4) and Justice (16.3).

  • Brandin Podziemski leads the team in PPG (18.4), RPG (8.2), APG (3.3) and SPG (1.95). He ranks second in the WCC in RPG and fourth in PPG.

  • Podziemski has seven double-doubles, which ranks second in the WCC.

  • Keshawn Justice ranks 16th in school history in career scoring (1,479) and is tied for the 5th-most career appearances (134).

  • Justice leads the WCC in 3-pointers made (62), attempted (170) and per game (2.82).

  • Carlos Stewart ranks 7th in the WCC in total ppg (15.3) and second in FT percentage (84.4).

  • Podziemski and Stewart rank in the top 5 in the league in total steals. 

  • Santa Clara ranks 24th nationally in rebounds per game (39.2).

  • Parker Braun leads the WCC with 6.3 Defensive RPG in league play and is third with 8.0 total RPG in league games.

  • The Broncos have had two players score 20 or more on five ocassions.

  • The Broncos lead the WCC with just 15.0 fouls per game.

  • Podziemski won WCC Player of the Week honors twice in the first five weeks of the year.  He's the first Bronco since Jared Brownridge in 2016-17 with multiple WCC POTW honors. 

  • Braun is tied for third in the league with 24 blocks. Jaden Bediako is right behind him tied for 5th with 23. The Broncos are 3rd as a team with 3.8 per game. 

  • Herb Sendek has 526 victories, tied for 61st most all-time in D1 history.

  • With a 12-3 mark, SCU tied for their 2nd most non-conference wins in program history.
