BARCELONA, Spain - After winning their first game of the foreign tour, Santa Clara men's basketball woke up the next morning ready to catch a ride to their next destination - Barcelona.
Day 5
The Broncos left Madrid on Wednesday, taking a three-hour ride on a bullet train to Barcelona. Upon arrival, it became obvious very quickly that this city was a bit different than the rest as thousands of people crowded the streets of the beautiful downtown district. A tour guide led members of the team around the square for a short history lesson before the entire team, donors and staff walked to dinner.
Once dinner was over, it was a mad scramble to get over to Camp Nou for a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch FC Barcelona and Manchester City play a friendly match in front of over 90,000 passionate futbol fans.

Day 6
Today saw the group split up for the first time. After a morning practice, the team's first in Barcelona, players and some coaches/staff headed to the beach for an afternoon of fun in the Sun. The rest of the group headed to the historic and incredibly beautiful Santa Maria de Montserrat, a monasteryamongst the mountains in Catalonia. Founded in the 11th century, the monastery is still active to this day with roughly 70 monks living on-site. The beautiful basilica houses Our Lady of Montserrat, the Patron Saint of Catalonia.
