SANTA CLARA, Calif. - After five games played at either road or neutral sites over the last two weeks, Santa Clara men's basketball is ready to return to the comfort of the Leavey Center, and will do so in a big way by hosting nine-straight home games that span the entire month of December. The first of those games is set to be played on Saturday against the Hornets of Sacramento State. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on the WCC Network.

• SCU is 6-2 and riding a three-game win streak into Saturday's game.

• The Broncos took down Wyoming in overtime, 89-85, in their last outing. Five players scored in double figures with Podziemski and Bediako each finishing with a double-double.

• Podziemski is averaging a double-double of 19.8 ppg and 10.0 rpg. He joins San Diego's Eric Williams as the only WCC players to do so. He ranks 2nd in the WCC in both categories. 

• Santa Clara ranks 12 nationally in rebounds per game (42.6) and 10th in defensive rpg (31.0) SCU is averaging 7.1 more boards per game than in 2021-22. 

• Podziemski is the WCC's leader and fifth nationally with four double-doubles. 

• Jaden Bediako is 2nd in the WCC in shooting percentage (66.7). 

• Herb Sendek has 516 victories, tied with Hall of Famer John Chaney for 67th-most all- time. He is one win away from tying with Rick Majerus for 66th. 

• SCU is 17-4 in home games dating back to the start of the 2021-22 season. 

• Sacramento State enters the contest with a 3-4 mark with wins over UC San Diego, Denver and UC Merced. The Hornets fell in their last game, 91-87, in double overtime against Southern Utah. Led by first-year head coach David Patrick, the Hornets are averaging 66.4 ppg and giving up 70.0 ppg defensively. Former San Jose State guard Zach Chappell leads the team in scoring with 12.0 ppg at a 47.5 percent scoring clip. 

• The Broncos are 7-0 all-time against Sacramento State. The teams last met on Dec. 14, 2019 in a game that SCU narrowly escaped with a 60-58 victory.
