MADRID, Spain - Day two of the 2022 men's basketball foreign tour saw the Broncos take to the court for their first European practice before heading across town to check out the Palacio Real de Madrid (Madrid Royal Palace).
Practice lasted roughly 1 1/2 hours as the Broncos prepped for their first game of tour, which will be held on Tuesday at 8 p.m. local time (11 a.m. PT) against Club Baloncesto Estudiantes in Madrid. Sophomore Brandin Podziemski was mic'd up to share his thoughts on the practice, the trip itself and his transition from Illinois to Santa Clara.
It's not all pleasure on this trip. We've also got business to attend to

Shortly after arriving back at the hotel, the Broncos were on the move again as they loaded the bus for a two hour guided tour of the Palacio Real de Madrid. First constructed in 1783, the palace is one of the most visited and well-known landmarks in all of Spain. With over 3,400 rooms, it is among the largest palaces in the world. Players, coaches, donors and staff alike were all amazed at the incredible detail and intricacies in the rooms, which included a few that are lined with hand-sewn silk patterns that took over 25 years to make. Senior Jaden Bediako was mic'd up throughout the tour to share his thoughts. Disclaimer: photos and video are not allowed for the majority of the palace interior.
