Broncos Host Pepperdine For Final Home Game Of 2022-23

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Riding a five-game win streak into the final week of regular-season play, Santa Clara men's basketball will look to keep the streak alive on Thursday with their final home game of the season. The Broncos will take on Pepperdine at 7 p.m. PT. The game will be streamed live on the WCC Network.

NOTES

  • The Broncos will wrap up the regular season this week at home against Pepperdine before finishing with a road game at San Diego. SCU is riding a five-game win streak. 

  •  Santa Clara will honor four seniors prior to Thursday's game - Jaden BediakoParker Braun, Keshawn Justice and Giordan Williams

  •  SCU has posted back to back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1995-96.

  •  The Broncos are coming off a big 103-84 win at Portland. Five players scored in double figures led by Keshawn Justice's 22 points. 

  •  The Broncos hit 16 3-pointers against the Pilots - the most since 2019. Their 41 total field goals was the most since 2017. 

  •  Brandin Podziemski is the reigning WCC Player of the Week after posting back-to-back double-doubles against BYU and Portland. 

  •  Podziemski has won POTW honors three times this season - the first Bronco since John Bryant in 2008-09 to do so. 

  •  Podziemski leads the team in PPG (19.5), RPG (8.4), APG (3.3) and SPG (1.79). He ranks third in the WCC in PPG and is second in RPG.

  •  Podziemski is one of just three players in NCAA D1 averaging 19.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 3.0 apg. He has four 30 point games and 12 20-point games on the year.

  •  Keshawn Justice moved up to 14th on the school's all-time scoring list with his 22-point night at BYU. He needs just seven more to move up to 13th. 

  •  Justice leads the WCC in 3-pointers made (85), attempted (225) and per game (2.9).

  •  Carlos Stewart ranks 10th in the WCC in total ppg (15.3).

  •  Santa Clara leads the WCC in rebounds per game (38.41).

  •  The Broncos have had two players score 20 or more on six occasions.

  •  Herb Sendek has 531 victories, 61st-most all-time in D1 history.
