AS A FRESHMAN IN 2011-12: SINGLES: Surged through his freshman campaign with a 20-3 singles record … appeared as the Broncos No. 6 singles player … won 14-straight matches after dropping his second match of the year against then-No. 48 Boise State … undefeated in the months of Feb. and Mar. … lost just one WCC match during his freshman campaign … won arguably the biggest singles match of the season tiebreaks in the first two sets against Ben Chen of then-No. 19 Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, which clinched Santa Clara’s first-ever NCAA victory.
