AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2006-07: Posted a 19-13 singles record overall and an 11-8 mark in duals, playing at No. 5 and No. 6 ... played only four doubles matches, going 2-2 ... Doubles: played three doubles matches with Bobby Rasmussen at Bulldog Classic, winning twice to reach the semifinals ... played one doubles match with Jay Wong at Aztec Invitational, losing to Souza and Rebazza of Arizona State 8-4 on Jan. 14 ... Singles: in the Bronco Classic, reached the semifinals of the Flight "B", beating Oregon's Francisco Gallardo 7-6 (4), 6-2 and California's Valclav Burger 6-4, 6-2 in the first two rounds and then pulling out a three-hour thriller over Sacramento State's Anton Stryhas 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 in the quarterfinals, lost in three sets in semifinals to Chris Rasmussen of Stanford ... also played in the Bulldog Classic and the ITA Regionals ... won three matches in the consolation bracket of the ITA Regionals ... started off the spring season on Jan. 13 by beating San Diego State's Billy Timu 7-5, 6-2 and Arizona State's Patrick Brogan 6-3, 6-4 at the Aztec Invitational ... lost first five dual matches against Boise State, California, Pepperdine, Arizona State and Arizona ... won first dual match on Feb. 16 vs. Gonzaga's Zach Radetzky 6-1, 6-2 to clinch a 6-1 Bronco win ... won six straight matches from Feb.16-Mar. 7 all in straight sets ... at Oregon he beat the Ducks Gustavo Loza 6-0, 6-1 on Feb. 17 ... defeated Nigel Barton of UCSB 6-2, 6-4 on Feb. 19 ... at No. 5, beat Portland's Charlie Yemm 6-2, 6-4 on Mar. 2 ... on Mar. 7 won his sixth straight match, defeating USF's Greg Hom 6-3, 6-3 ... defeated Montana State's David Kovas 6-1, 6-1 on Mar. 24 ... won his biggest match of season on Mar. 31 vs. Harvard, grinding out an 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win at No. 6 singles to clinch the match for Santa Clara; he defeated Sasha Ermakov after coming back from 1-4, 40-love deficit in the third set and a 1-5 deficit in the second set tiebreaker ... defeated USF's Rainer Nachbauer 6-2, 7-5 on Apr. 5 ... beat Nevada's Augustin Myard 6-3, 6-2 on Apr. 13 ... defeated Reyniere Roxas of LMU 6-2, 6-1 on Apr. 21 in WCC Championships in final match of year.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2005-06: Capped off a great freshman season by posting an overall singles record of 24-11... the 24 wins by Hicks is the fourth best in program history for singles victories in one season... produced an 18-9 mark during the spring, playing primarily at the No. 4 and 5 positions... earned All-WCC Honorable Mention after going 5-3 in league action... had a five-match winning streak with straight-set wins over Jeff Fitch (Hawai'i), Gustavo Loza (Oregon), Luis Gonzalez (Portland), Shannon Morales (Princeton), and Franz Molina (Fresno State)... reached the Round of 32 at the Wilson/ITA Northwest Regional Championships... captured the singles title at the Santa Clara Bronco Classic, defeating Greg Horn (San Francisco), Casey McMakin (UC Davis), Ken Kao (Stanford), and Henri Landes (UC Davis), all in straight sets... had a 4-2 doubles record, primarily playing the No. 3 spot with Brian Brogan.  

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate of Grant High School in Portland, Ore...played for coach Scott MacDonald...team captured state championship in 2005...a four-year recipient of All-District and All-State honors...individually won league championship four consecutive years...undefeated in high school league play...state finalist as a sophomore and junior...honored as the top-ranked junior in the Pacific Northwest 18's, 16's, and 14's...finished ranked in the top-75 nationally in the 14's (No. 15), 16's (No. 41) and 18's (No. 51)...represented Pacific Northwest section at the USTA Zonal, Intersectional and Junior Davis Cup championships...member of National Honor Society.
