PERSONAL: Daughter of Doug and Gail Weatherholt … father is a realtor, and mother is a part time bookkeeper…has two brothers, Doug and Branden … born in Laguna Beach, CA…enjoys photography, drawing and the environment … wants to continue playing competitive soccer both professionally and nationally following her college career … She will be majoring in Liberal Studies. 

Why Danielle chose Santa Clara: “There are so many aspects of Santa Clara that made it my top choice. Having the opportunity to be coached by Jerry Smith in the ODP program gave me the insight into his teaching techniques and style of play, which furthered my search into Santa Clara. Santa Clara’s proven track record in both academics and athletic success made it a highly desirable choice for me. In addition, I am thrilled with the fact that the school is spiritual in nature and I will be surrounded by people with like minds and values.”

Head coach Jerry Smith on Danielle: "Dani is the most complete player in our incoming class.  Her game reminds me of Leslie Osborne's game when she came to Santa Clara.  Dani impacts the game equally well on the attacking side of things and on the defensive side.  Dani is very determined, competitive, driven and tough.  In fact, Dani's mental side is a good as I've seen at the youth level.  I believe Dani will be another great central midfield player in a long line of great central midfield players we've had at Santa Clara University."
