A 2003 graduate of San Diego with a degree in Communication, Robertson, a two-time captain and three-time Coach's Award recipient, helped lead the Toreros the NCAA Tournament all four years; and the team won the 1998 WCC title.

"Having an experienced, elite player from the WCC like Debra will help with our younger players development. Her youthful attitude is exciting for our staff as well," said Wallace, entering his 11th year at the Bronco helm. "Coming to Santa Clara is a great opportunity for Debra as she begins her collegiate coaching career. We are excited to call her a Bronco!"

"I'm thrilled with the opportunity to learn from an experienced staff and work with a top team in the WCC," said Robertson. "As a former player I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences, especially with six freshmen coming in. I am excited to help aid the Broncos in their efforts to make their 12th straight NCAA Tournament."

Robertson played professionally in Glarus, Switzerland for two years, winning the league in 2003-04 before her career was cut short by a knee injury. Prior to attending USD, Robertson played club volleyball for City Beach of Santa Clara. Her team won the gold medal at Junior Olympic 18s Open in 1998.

Robertson has worked as a club coach for City Beach Girl's Volleyball Club the past three years. She also worked as a club coach for Club Yahoo! 15 in 2006.
