Bronco Cross Country Teams Compete at Stanford Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - Highlighted by senior Charlie Brenneman's second-place finish in the college men's division, the Santa Clara University men's and women's cross country teams enjoyed a successful outing at the Stanford Invitational Saturday.

Brenneman (Roseville, Calif.) appeared unaffected by the hot temperature as he finished the 8,000-meter course around the Stanford Golf Course in a season-best time of 25:25. The Bronco men's team finished ninth overall out of 24 teams in the meet with 240 points.

In the college women's division, Santa Clara finished 12th out of 30 teams with 331 points. The Broncos were led for the third time in as many meets this season by sophomore Jenny Smokey (Minden, Nev), who finished the 5,000-meter course in a time of 20:01.
