Baseball Welcomes New Addition

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara University's baseball team has announced a new addition to its staff, welcoming Brett Lindgren to the Bronco family. Lindgren will be serving as an assistant coach for Santa Clara on a volunteer basis.

Lindgren, who spent the last five years at Cal State Fullerton as the facilities manager and volunteer assistant coach, brings experience and dedication to the Mission Campus.

While Lindgren was at Fullerton the Titans won three Big West Conference titles (2006, 2008 and 2010) and made three appearances at the NCAA Men's College World Series (2006, 2007 and 2009).  His coaching responsibilities at Fullerton included working with the catchers and serving as the team's first base coach.

In the summer of 2007 Lindgren was also the assistant coach of the Rochester Honkers in the Northwoods League in Minnesota.  After some mid-season staff departures, Lindgren assumed the head coaching position for the remainder of the season.

Lindgren played collegiate baseball at Fresno City College where he became a second-team All-Central Valley Conference infielder.  In his sophomore year he also helped the Rams win the Central Valley Conference Championship.  Lindgren then transferred to East Carolina where his team won the Conference USA title in 2004 and competed in the NCAA Postseason in 2004 and 2005, making it as far as the super regional in 2004.

A native of Santa Cruz, Lindgren was an all-league and all-county player at Santa Cruz High School, leading the Cardinals to a pair of Santa Cruz Coast League titles.
Lindgren has also worked at various baseball camps and gives lessons in his spare time.
