Junior J.R. Graham Selected In Fourth Round By Atlanta Braves

Comments from Graham to come later.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara University junior RHP J.R. Graham was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round as the 146th overall pick in the 2011 MLB First Year Player Draft.

Graham throws in the upper 90's and has hit 100 mph several times in his collegiate career. The junior struck out 45 batters while walking only nine in 62.0 innings in 2011. His 0.68 walks per nine innings ranked him fourth nationally. He was also second on the team among qualified pitchers with a 3.34 ERA.

Graham is the highest Bronco taken in the draft since Randy Winn, a former San Francisco Giant, was taken by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the third round with the 65th overall pick. Since Winn, Graham is the 38th Bronco drafted.
