Santa Clara, Calif. - The Ninth Annual Bronco Pro-Am Invitational read like a "Who's Who" in Santa Clara men's tennis, as former players from the past half-century joined this season's squad in the 36-player tournament on April 29. In total, over 50 people were out at the Degheri Tennis Center to either play, volunteer, or support the yearly event in some fashion. All proceeds and funds raised that day paid for the Broncos' Spring Break week of matches at home and on the road in Southern California.

"This is one of my favorite events of the year as we celebrate the history and future of Bronco Tennis with so many gracious supporters," said current head coach George Husack. "It's a wonderful way for family and friends to join our tight-knit community and experience what our program is all about."

Former Santa Clara women's volleyball head coach and SCU graduate Annie Feller paired up with freshman Kenzo Hirakawa-Wong to win the invitational, playing their way through five stages of round robin play, plus the semifinal and championship rounds. The duo took out freshman Tommy Hicks and Jane Najour 7-1 in the semifinals to advance to the finals, where they defeated Bronco alum Michael Naumes ('68) and junior Kevin McQuaid 7-3. In the other semifinal, McQuaid and Naumes reached the finals by beating SCU graduate Henry Yamate ('52) and freshman Brian Brogan 7-3.
