Four Women's Basketball Players Honored for Academic Work

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball had four players honored by the West Coast Conference for their academic achievements.

Ashlyn Herlihy was named to the All-Academic Team with Lana Hollingsworth, Lindsey VanAllen, and Merle Wiehl all taking home honorable mention.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.

Herlihy maintained a 3.58 GPA as she worked toward her MBA. This is the second year in a row she has been named All-Academic.

Hollingsworth has a 3.85 GPA and is majoring in Biology.

VanAllen was a 3.48 GPA as a Management major. She was also honorable mention in 2020.

Wiehl finished her undergrad with a 3.79 GPA in Sociology.
