Men's Crew Falls to Stanford

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's crew battled the Stanford Saturday afternoon at Redwood Shores, and came up just short, losing all three races to the Cardinal on their home lake.

Despite losing all three races, the Broncos earned a measure of respect with their varsity and junior varsity eights, with the varsity eight finishing just 21 seconds off the pace, the the junior varsity eight finishing just six second back.

The freshman eight finished the race in a time of 6:35 for the Broncos, 28 seconds behind the Cardinal in the final race of the day.

The Broncos will return to action April 4-7 at the San Diego Crew Classic in San Diego, Calif. Following the San Diego Crew Classic, the Broncos will continue their season in May at the WIRA Rowing Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
