Women's Golf Concludes Play at Santa Clara Colby Classic

CARMEL, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's golf team concluded play at the 6th Annual Santa Clara Colby Classic Tuesday afternoon in Carmel, Calif. The Broncos hosted the event at the Rancho Caņada Golf Club where play took place on the East Course Monday afternoon, and the West Course on Tuesday.

Cal State Northridge won the two round tournament with a score of 613, after firing a 15-over par 303 Tuesday afternoon. The Matadors finished 24 strokes ahead of second place Sacramento State and 31 shots better than Eastern Washington. Cal Poly finished fourth with a score of 646, while West Coast Conference competitor Gonzaga finished in fifth place with a score of 647.

Boise State finished sixth, while CSU San Marcos, British Columbia and CSU Monterey Bay finished seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively. Santa Clara finished the tournament in 10th place with a two-day total of 711.

Kathy Pareja of Cal State Northridge took home the medalist honors following a two-round score of 149, finishing just two strokes ahead of teammate Kelley Carlson. Tracy Nichols of Sacramento State finished third with a score of 152, while Kelly Gardner of Eastern Washington finished fourth with a score of 153.

Jessica Lamberty was the top Santa Clara finisher, ending the tournament in a tie for 13th place after a two round total of 160. Courtney Dimpel-Composti was the next highest Bronco finisher, ending the tournament in a tie for 36th with a score of 173.
