Jessica Clee Tabbed PCSC Player of the Week

March 27, 2006

Seattle, Wash. - The Pacific Coast Softball Conference announced today that Santa Clara senior Jessica Clee was named its Player of the Week for her outstanding performance this past weekend. This is the third time this season that the Broncos have earned accolades from the PCSC, as senior Shannon Linerud won the PCSC Player of the Week award on February 13 and sophomore hurler Jerrica Castagno earned the PCSC Pitcher of the Week honor on March 3.

In five games this past weekend, three at the Stanford Invitational II and two against visiting Cal Poly, Clee went 6-16 from the plate, including one double, one triple, and one homerun. Her homer to left field against Cal Poly gives her five for the year and pushes her career total and school record to 26. The 5-7 outfielder also came away with a .750 batting percentage and knocked in five RBIs.

Santa Clara's current record stands at 11-20 and will return to action in a doubleheader against Fresno State on Wednesday in Fresno, Calif. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
