With Halloween night not being lucky for the Broncos in the Martin Centre, Santa Clara was swept in straight sets by Gonzaga on Thursday night. Set scores were 25-15, 25-20 and 25-21.
Gonzaga is now 9-12 and 5-7 West Coast Conference. The Broncos are 7-13, 2-9 WCC. The Zags swept the Broncos in the season series for the first time since 1990.
Santa Clara hit .124 with 32 kills (21 e, 89 att.). The Broncos collected 30 assists, three service aces, three service errors, 23 digs and seven tream blocks. Gonzaga hit .345 with 45 kills (15 e, 87 att.). The collected 43 assists, five aces, six service errors, 32 digs and 12 team blocks.
Taylor Milton led the Broncos with nine kills and seven digs. Nikki Hess scored seven kills. Alyssa Anderson had assists, three aces and three kills.
Gonzaga's Savannah Blinn led all players with 16 kills and Imani Wimbush set a career-high with 11 blocks.
