Bronco Women Head to UC Davis and San Jose State This Weekend

Santa Clara (16-9) will play two away games against top ten opponents this week, first traveling to UC Davis (21-8) to take on the 10th ranked Aggies on Saturday, April 12 at noon. Then they will finish off their weekend with a rivalry series game against No. 9 San Jose State (12-11) on Sunday, April 13 at noon.

Last Week

The Broncos went 2-2 this past weekend against WWPA competition. On Saturday, Santa Clara started out the weekend with a 10-5 win over Cal State San Bernardino before falling to Cal State Bakersfield 5-4. Then on Sunday, the Broncos took down Colorado State 10-5 before losing to No. 11 Loyola Marymount 8-4 in the afternoon.

Notes

Hat Trickin'
Amy Lamb had a hat trick against CS San Bernardino this past weekend. That is the sixth time this season Lamb has scored three or mores goals in a game. She currently leads the team in goals and assists with 38 of each.

Give Me Five!
In the same game against CS San Bernardino, Meg Zimmerman drew a season high five kickouts which helped lead to the ten goals scored by the Broncos. Zimmerman also had a goal in the effort.

Rankings Recap
After their 2-2 showing this weekend, Santa Clara moved down from 16th to 19th in the polls. But with two games this weekend against top ten opponents, and good showing by the Broncos could mean a climb back up the rankings.

Building Blocks
With 53 blocks this weekend, Randahl Capurro continued her play as one of the top goalkeepers in the country. She is currently ranked second in blocks per game with 12.9 and third in total blocks 303.

Defensive Domination
The Broncos are currently ranked third in the nation in goals per game, allowing a stingy 6.0. They are right behind water polo juggernauts USC and Stanford with 5.6 and 5.8 respectively.
