Black Velvet Flyer in PDF Format

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University athletics department and the Broncos men's and women's crew programs are hosting its annual Black Velvet event Saturday, February 20. The event celebrates the beginning of their spring competition season. The day begins with a morning row at the SCU boat house (at Lexington Reservoir) and concludes with a banquet at David's Restaurant, 5151 Stars and Stripes Drive, Santa Clara.

This year, Santa Clara University President Father Michael Engh, S.J., has accepted the team's invitation to attend the morning row and bless the team's new boats. In the evening, the teams, parents and alumni will celebrate the new season and the 45th anniversary of the men's program at David's Restaurant with a traditional banquet starting at 6:30 p.m.
