SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis will square off against the Boise State Broncos on Sunday at 10 a.m. PT at Degheri Tennis Center.

"Last year we played them and it was a really tough battle," head coach Niall Angus said. "They are a well-coached team. We were young and immature in some positions and I think we've grown a lot this year and since last year. We're looking to reverse that result and get some good performances."

The Broncos of Santa Clara enter the weekend at 6-1, with their lone loss on the year coming at Tulane, a team receiving votes in the latest Division I Men's National Team Oracle/ITA Collegiate Rankings.

Sophomores Robert Seby and Connor Garnett were named the WCC Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week for their performances against Nevada (Feb. 11) and UNLV (Feb. 12). The Broncos were able to claim the doubles point against UNLV for the first time in the previous three matches.

"We finally started getting the doubles back together," Angus said. "The energy has been good and we've been having some good practice this week and I'm looking forward to flipping that score around from at Boise State last year."

Seby boasts a 7-6 singles record for the year and is 5-2 on court one for the Broncos. Sophomore Andrew Gu is 4-2 playing on court two and has won seven of his last 10 matches. Garnett has gone 8-2 in his last 10 matches and is 6-1 on court three to start dual match play.

Freshman Jesus Tapiador Barajas owns a 4-1 record on court four for SCU. Freshman Vasileios Iliopoulos is 5-1 in match play (1-0 on court four and 4-1 on court five), including the clinching win for the Broncos at LSU (Feb. 3). Kamran Khan is 1-0 on court five this year and 3-1 on court six.

Boise State is 2-8 on the season and has lost its last two matches against BYU (Feb. 11, 2-4) and Utah (Feb. 12, 1-4). Kyle Butters is 2-5 on court one and teammate Jack Heslin is 4-3 (1-0 on court one, 0-1 on court two and 3-2 on court three) during the dual match season.

PARKING: On Friday, parking on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive. During the weekend, campus parking facilities are free (except for permit required locations). Click here for a campus map and parking restrictions.
