SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Senior Jack Wall was named this week's Western Water Polo Association Player of the Week after helping lead his team to a sweep of five opponents at the Princeton Invitational last weekend.
The perfect mark on the trip is first east coast sweep for the Broncos and included a 7-6 upset victory over No. 11 Princeton. In the win, Wall had his hand in all seven goals, scoring four times and dishing out three assists.
For the weekend, he finished with 15 goals, 12 assists and four steals.
Also, Santa Clara earned one of it's best national rankings ever today, reaching No. 12 on the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Varsity Poll.
The Broncos remain in the Bay Area this weekend, traveling to Stanford for the annual NorCal Tournament. Santa Clara meets third-ranked California in its first match of the tournament at 10:40 a.m. at the Avery Aquatic Center.
