The Broncos track and field teams will compete in the Woody Wilson Invitational on Saturday as they will look to continue their record setting pace.
Like last weekend's Johnny Mathis Invitational, many of the Bronco athletes will run different events.
"Once again we are in a situation where we are alternating our distance runners so they don't consistently run long races," said Bronco head coach Tom Service. "We will be running more middle distances races like 800m, and 1500m than 5000m."
Service also highlighted the women's 3,000m steeplechase race featuring Anna Wheatley. "Davis always has a lot of good steeplechasers, so it should be a very competitive race," said Service. Service added that Wheatley is capable of breaking the school record in the steeplechase as well.
Bronco assistant coach Felipe Montoro said that many of long distance runners will be running 1500m races, to build for next weekend's meets.
Two of the distance runners are John Laughlin and Robert Reid, who came off strong performances in the 800m last week.
Kazimir Brown will face strong competition this weekend. She looks to continue her record-breaking success. Last weekend she broke two individual records in the 100m and 200m, and was a part of the record breaking 4x400m relay.
The meet will also feature the return of Noelle Lopez and Whitney Porter. The pair took a week off after running a 10,000m. Both will be running the 800m and 1500m this weekend.
"We are starting the last leg of the season, and we are starting to taper," said Montoro. "Last weekend was a good start to this part of the season. Hopefully we can keep it rolling, and keep running faster."
