Strong Singles Play Lifts Men's Tennis Past UC Davis

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - A strong singles play topped by Arthur Neuhaus' victory at top flight lifted Santa Clara men's tennis to a 4-2 win over UC Davis on Friday afternoon at the Degheri Tennis Center. 

The Broncos (5-3) fell behind 1-0 losing the doubles point but won the first three singles matches to take a 3-1 lead on the team score. 

Playing on court five, Jack Pulliam downed Sam De Vries in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, followed by another straight set win by Mann Shah over Brett Brinkman, 6-4, 6-4 on court four.  Guillaume Dalmasso needed three sets to take care of Ryan Torres 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 at No. 2. 

Santa Clara's lead was trimmed to 3-2 when Lucas Bollinger beat Santiago Hinojosa, 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 6-0 at No. 6 before Neuhaus' match clincher.  

Shortly after, Neuhaus handled Andrei Volgin 6-1, 6-7 (3-7), 6-1 to secure the team win for the Broncos.
