Santa Clara Men's Water Polo Inks Eight for Class of 2013

June 22, 2009

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara water polo head coach Keith Wilbur revealed his 2009 recruiting class this week as he announced the signing of eight student-athletes. The eight freshmen will attend Santa Clara University in the fall of 2009.

"We are extremely excited about our recruiting class," said Wilbur. "This class has a combination of excellent speed, a solid goalie, and interior strength. I am sure that they will make a great impact here at Santa Clara."

The class also adds to the Men's water polo team is a left-handed attacker, something the Broncos did not have in 2008. "Having a lefty on our team will give us an element that we missed last season," says junior 2M Stephen Hobbs. "Now we can open up both sides of the pool and our offense will be more efficient."

The combination of veteran leadership and fresh talent gives the Broncos great confidence for this upcoming season.
