No. 16 Broncos Drop MIT In Season Opener At Princeton

Sept. 11, 2009

Princeton, N.J. - The No. 16 Santa Clara men's water polo team defeated MIT 16-2 this evening in their season opener at the Princeton Invitational in New Jersey.

Jack Wall scored four goals in the match, and several other Broncos also found their way on the scoresheet. Goalkeepers Michael Wishart and John Nash each saw action in the victory.

"It was great to get a good start, we haven't always done that to begin a season," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "Our guys played well, but its the first game of the season and there is always room for improvement."

Santa Clara takes on Fordham tomorrow afternoon and No. 11 Princeton when tournament action resumes tomorrow.

The Princeton match will be stremed live on GoPrincetonTigers.tv and will also be televised on New Jersey's Verizon Cable Fios1 channel.
