Injuries Slow Women's Rowing at San Diego Crew Classic

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's rowing had a tough showing at the San Diego Crew Classic over the weekend. The Broncos have been hurt by injuries and are missing key rowers. The Varsity 8 boat finished 17th and the Novice 8 finished in seventh.

"The racing was very tough for us as we currently have eight very important rowers unable to row due to injury," said Santa Clara head coach John Wojtkiewicz. "We had to rearrange some lineups at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, and that made putting together the fastest possible crews challenging. We're looking forward to hitting the reset button this week and preparing for the Covered Bridge Regatta."

The Broncos are back in action April 9-10 at the Covered Bridge Regatta in Dexter, Oregon.
