SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's rowing finishes its season Saturday at the West Coast Conference championships on Lake Natoma in Sacramento.
The Broncos have struggled with injuries and turmoil all season but have been able to fight through the adversity and put themselves in position to be competitive at the end of the season.
"We've had 10 very productive days with some good changes for both the varsity and JV eights," said Santa Clara head coach John Wojtkiewicz. "We'll be going into the weekend hoping to improve on our raw time for the Varsity 8 from last year's conference championship (7:00.4) and for the JV eight as well (7:36.0). I'm very proud with how this team has conducted itself in the face of adversity and mitigating circumstances. If we can perform in the race(s) the way we have in practice this past week, we should be able to perform to expectations."
