SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's golf team is hosting its first annual fundraising golf tournament on Monday, February 9 at the prestigious Pasatiempo Golf Course in Santa Cruz, Calif., with all of the proceeds benefitting the program.
A limited number of spots are still available for the first annual tournament that is being held at the Alister MacKenzie designed layout. Registration begins at 10 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at Noon. After a fun day of golf, an awards dinner will be held at 6 p.m. with the introduction of the team to take place at 7:30.
"This is an opportunity to play a great course for a great cause," said SCU head coach Polly Schulze. "Pasatiempo is continually ranked amongst the top 100 courses in the nation and one of the very best in the bay area. The event will provide a great day of golf and comraderie. Throw in the chance to meet and greet the members of the SCU Women's Golf Team throughout the day, and you have a must play event."
Schulze and her team begin their 2004 season the following week at the annual Bay Area Classic which, this year, will be held in San Jose on February 16-17.
