FRESNO, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's golf team made history for the second day in a row as they captured their first even multi-team tournament, winning the Sacramento State Fall Invitational at the Riverside Golf Course. The Broncos won the tournament with a team total of 620 following a final round 309 at the par-73, 5,900-yard course in Fresno.

"I am very proud of how hard the girls worked to achieve this," said head coach Polly Schulze. "We are hopeful that this good play and confidence can carry over to the remainder of the fall schedule."

The 309 team total on Tuesday bested Monday's team score of 311 by two strokes, establishing a new program-low round. Monday's round broke the previous record of 312 which had stood for over five years.

Courtney Dimpel-Composti joined the history making event as she claimed medalist honors for the first time in her career with her two day total of 3-over par, 149. Her final day 75 was one shot higher than teammate Samantha Trask who fired an even-par round of 73 on Tuesday.

Trask's round proved to be the low round of the day and gave her a two day total of 150, good enough for second place. Teammate Meggie Fagundes carded an 82 on Tuesday, moving her total to 160 after an opening round 78 on Monday.

Candice Palmer fired a second round 79 while Jessica Lamberty rounded out the Broncos' scores on Tuesday with her 84. Palmer's two day total was 161, five strokes ahead of Lamberty's two day total of 166.

Santa Clara returns to action on October 19-20 at the Lady Aztec Invitational hosted by San Diego State. Following that tournament the Broncos will conclude their fall season at the Hawaii Invitational on November 4-5.
