Broncos Fourth After 18 Holes At Ānuenue Spring Break Classic

LAHAINA, Hawaii - Santa Clara women's golf had a great opening round on the links, turning in a 1-under 287 for the day to finish round one of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic in fourth place out of 14 teams. 

The Broncos are just one shot back from third place and three strokes behind No. 25 Pepperdine for second place. No. 13 Denver is the day one leader after posting a 13-under 275. 

Upperclassmen Claire Choi and Lauren Shew were both 1-under 71 on the par-72 Ka'anapali Golf Course to tie for 14th. Choi offset three bogeys with four birdie putts on Nos. 3, 11, 15 and 18. Not to be outdone by her teammate, Shew also turned in four birdies on Nos. 3, 7, 8 and 15. Inara Sharma tallied three birdies as part of an even-par 72 to tie for 29th while Audrey Brust finished one shot behind at 1-over 36 with three birdies of her own. Borina Sutikto rounded out the Bronco contingent at 3-over 75 where she is tied for 50th. The sophomore had a rough back nine, but was flawless on the front with a pair of birdies. 

UCLA's Zoe Campos leads the field at 6-under 66.
