No. 51 Women's Tennis Tops USF 6-1; 7-2 This Season

Santa Clara, Calif.-- As the sun shinned brightly down on the Mission Campus Friday, the Santa Clara women's tennis team topped Bay Area rival University of San Francisco 6-1. The Broncos (7-2) extend their winning streak to four and continue to hold on to their highest ranking in the program's history at No. 51.  Santa Clara travels to Fresno, Calif. to play Fresno State on Sunday, March 4 at 5:00 p.m.

Freshman Charlottle Newell competed in her first conference match at the No. 6 position for the Broncos. She defeated Blair Reed 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. Nicolette Wolny, also a newcomer, battled at the No. 3 doubles position will Kelly Lamble to defeat Medlinda Akerbrant and Alana McMahon 8-6.
